Client Stories: Nottingham Arimathea Trust

“Sean started working with Nottingham Arimathea Trust in 2011 to help us understand our funding needs by undertaking a Fundraising Healthcheck project. This process consisted of reviewing our key documents, asking lots of questions about NAT, and then benchmarking us against similar organisations.

This really helped the trust in working out the basics of a fundraising strategy and we immediately began to implement recommendations that Sean made, which for us included pursuing a 5-year grant from Big Lottery Fund.

Whilst working on developing our full bid to Big Lottery Fund, we experienced a crisis in our workload, limiting capacity at the point where we were fast running out of time to complete the bid and provide a good evaluation of our past and existing work. Sean was able to come in at the last minute and pick up the evidence collected for our evaluation and put it into a logical order, producing a report that helped communicate what we did and the difference we make to our residents and partner organisations.

This was so critical to securing our Big Lottery grant and we have since used it to support numerous other bids to good success.

We have since expanded our housing and our staffing as a result of a better funding base for our work, which all started from Sean’s involvement with NAT.

He is now working with us to evaluate our ongoing work and a new resource we are devising to measure outcomes for our residents.

I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Sean for fundraising, evaluations and strategy work for charities.”
